September 20th , 2012Pick Up Party: 9/15 Being a part of the Whitehall Lane Wine Club isn’t all just fun and games. It’s serious business. You have to attend parties to pick up your wine, you have to take the wine home with you and you have to drink said wine… Okay so maybe it is all fun and games! This past Saturday (9/15) we had our most recent club member pick up party. It was a wonderful day with beautiful Indian summer weather. It was an all day affair from 10 am to 4 pm. We hold these parties just before each club member shipment goes out. You can choose to come to the party to pick up your wine or we will just mail it to you. If you come to the party, there are hors d’oeuvres and appetizers prepared by Chef Larry, as well as, fun vintage wines that we’ve been hiding in the cellar for our club members to taste (this time it was the 2004 Napa Valley Cabernet). You also get to be the first to taste our new releases (this time it was the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2009 Napa Cabernet). How’s that for being a part of the “in” crowd? This was a particularly special pick up party because we are in full harvest swing! The guests were able to see our cellar crew crushing their last batch of Estate Sauvignon Blanc and even taste the grapes as they were coming in from the vineyards! Then our club members were exclusively escorted up to the club room where they met with Whitehall Lane winemaker Dean Sylvester and many of the Leonardini family members who poured for the guests. The best perk yet, club members enjoyed special “one day only” prices in the club room.
