What? Merlot With Lobster?

No, we’re not crazy… It’s just that this Merlot is that special. The 2010 Leonardini Vineyard Merlot is our first vineyard designated Merlot since a 1997 vintage. 2010 was such a perfect year for our Merlot vineyards that we had to honor this vintage. In the unpredictable world of wine, we would have hoped to have an endless supply of this wonderful juice. We were lucky, and happy, to get 216 cases produced. That’s 2592 bottles. A little over 12000 glasses.

How Do I Get Some?

It is sure to sell quickly with such limited production. Our wine club members get the first shot at it. Some of those bottles will be opened, poured and sipped this weekend. Saturday, June 22nd, is our second annual Lobster Boil. A family style feast fit for a king!

Imagine taking a seat at a long table complete with our 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, 2009 Carneros Pinot, 2010 Napa Cabernet and the luscious Leonardini Merlot. You pour a glass; then we pile on the feast of lobsters, mussels, prawns, more shellfish, potatoes, corn, artichokes, sausage and French bread. And butter, of course.

You sip, crack, eat and repeat all evening long. All in the tranquil setting of our winery garden. Surrounded by friends and fellow wine lovers. Right in the heart of Napa Valley. Can you imagine life getting any better than that?

What About After Dinner?

Then there’s the band! Our own winemaker, Dean, will be entertaining us with the Gary Lee Yoder Band through the evening. If you are not too full of lobster and wine, take off your bib and cut a rug on the dance floor. These guys know how to get you moving so don’t forget those dancing shoes!

How Do I Get Tickets?

Sadly for some, this event is sold out for the year…However, we keep a little room for club members and other loyal customers who make last minute plans to come to Napa Valley for this event. Call us ASAP if you would like to join us! Those of you that jumped at the chance to buy tickets get to enjoy the feast and tease your friends with pictures and memories of the evening. Our guests last year made us promise to do it again, and we can only guess that this is the start of another Leonardini Family tradition at the winery.
