Wines for Every Course

The holiday season is right around the corner, and with that comes family gatherings and your chance to show off your skills in the kitchen. The holidays are the perfect excuse to enjoy a leisurely three-course meal with a new wine for each dish. Don’t let the infinite possibilities overwhelm you; take a look at our pairing recommendations for the perfect night.

For your first course, we recommend preparing a soup dish. With colder days ahead, a nice cup of soup will warm your guests’ bodies and souls. Pull out that recipe for creamy tomato soup you have been dying to try and open a bottle of our 2015 Sauvignon Blanc. Filled with citrusy lemon, tart apple and sweet melon flavors, this wine will cut through the acidity in the soup. After a sip of warm soup, this wine will be the perfect balance for your taste buds.

After the soup has settled in your guests’ stomachs, you are ready to bring out the salad course and uncork our 2014 Pinot Noir. When preparing your salad, be sure to include some goat cheese or blue cheese to add a little fat to your dish. This will help absorb our 2015 Las Brisas Pinot Noir’s light tannins during every bite. This course is considered the palate-cleanser course because it will get your guests ready for a rich and hearty entrée.

Full bodied wines and your main course make the perfect match. Whether you’re serving a fish dish or a juicy steak, our 2013 Merlot will do the trick. Our single vineyard Merlot is a dense, saturated bottle of jammy red fruit. Complex and elegant with aromas of plum and black cherry, it makes the perfect pairing to any dish you prepare. We recommend serving your guests a delicious well-rubbed steak with sides of seasonal vegetables and enjoy as the flavors of the wine and your meal marry perfectly.

There’s nothing like ending your dinner party with a homemade dessert. Our Belmuscato is ideal for those looking to wind down on a sweet note. While this wine is perfect on its own, we suggest pairing it with seasonal berries and homemade whipped cream. Our Belmuscato is full of sweet yet crisp orange citrus, ripe peach, apricot, honey and spicy aromas and flavors to help end your dinner party on a high note.
