New Era Program – 2014 II de V / SOLD OUT Created in complete secrecy by winemaker Jason Moulton and proprietor Tom Leonardini, the New Era wines have reached perfection and their varietals are now revealed. These premiere offerings mark a new era in winemaking at Whitehall Lane Winery. Tom and Jason started the New Era program with the desire to appreciate the simplicity in varietal choices that showcase the complexity of wine. The 2014 II de V is an exceptional statement of two of the five Bordeaux varietals grown in Napa Valley. We know the lion’s share is Cabernet Sauvignon but the other Bordeaux variety is Petit Verdot. This bottling is selected from the winery’s top vineyard blocks. “The 2014 II de V is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals, aged 28 months in 75% new French oak. This looks to be an impressive proprietary blend, with a dense ruby/purple color and loads of spring flowers intermixed with blackberries, cassis, coffee bean, white chocolate and a touch of background oak. It is lusty, layered, plush, and medium to full-bodied with light tannin. Drink it over the next 15 or so years.” – Robert Parker Winemaker: Jason Moulton Appellation: Napa Valley Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Cost: $225 | Club: $191.25 Sold Out
